Grigoris Afxentiou monument, Machairas
Kypros/Kibris is a series of photographs shot in Cyprus in late 2008. The images were taken on both sides of the "green line" and show a landscape that has been adapted by political and social division; by conflict and a long-standing military presence; and by the effects of post-colonialism, mass tourism and migration.
The series examines the island's geographical and cultural situation at the edge of Europe and the Middle East and looks at places that are being affected by environmental events, changing socio-economic circumstances and an evolving sense of national and ethnic identity.
